Read my Theory of Black and White to get the full info about this. It has to do with how cats sees things and it might be the perfect change for you if you have a "4 AM:er"? Your cat needs toys that is more visible to him/her during the night and these are exactly that!
Take a look at the extra photos and see for yourself. If you have very dark floors or carpets, the black springs are almost invisible to the cat. Same with light floors.
